Add Up/Down or Like/Dislike Voting to Capture Real Sentiment
The Up/Down Voting feature in Pollify Pro lets visitors instantly express approval or disapproval without writing a word. With just a click, users can vote 👍 or 👎 – giving you fast, lightweight feedback on what’s working and what isn’t. Whether you’re improving product updates, collecting content feedback, or evaluating user ideas, this interactive voting block is the perfect fit.
Let’s walk through how to add it to your pages, what settings you can configure, and how to analyze results from your dashboard.
Why Use the Up/Down and Like/Dislike Voting Block #
This voting system is perfect for:
- Capturing immediate user sentiment
- Finding which content connects with your audience — and which doesn’t
- Reducing the barrier for feedback by eliminating comment forms
- Making better product and content decisions based on real-time signals
Best Use Cases for Up/Down or Like/Dislike Votes #
You can apply this voting style across various parts of your site:
- Blog posts: “Was this post helpful?”
- Documentation pages: “Did this tutorial solve your problem?”
- Product updates: “Excited about this feature?”
- Idea boards: “Should we build this feature next?”
- Q&A or support posts: “Did this answer your question?”
These votes help you identify value gaps without interrupting your user’s flow.

- Click + Add Block, and search for “Vote.”

- Insert the Vote Block where you want user feedback.
- You’ll now see a thumbs-up/thumbs-down icon and access to full settings in the right sidebar.

You’re now ready to configure exactly how this block should behave.

- Closed – Voting is turned off. Choose whether to show results or hide the block.
- Close After – Set a scheduled closing time after which users can no longer vote.

- Padding – Add internal spacing on all four sides.
- Border – Add a border with adjustable color, style, and width.

Toolbar Settings #
Choose the vote icon style:

- Thumbs Up/Down (default)
- Like/Dislike icons for a friendlier tone
This small tweak lets you tailor the block’s vibe to your audience.

Once you style and publish the block, users will see clear 👍 and 👎 icons. Each click updates the live vote count. It works instantly with no reloads, and looks great across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
